As he admits, the process of implementing optimization algorithms in companies has significantly accelerated over the last dozen or so months. – "The use of algorithms and machine learning mechanisms brings quick results in the process of collecting and preparing inventories. The picking and replenishment processes are more efficient, i.e. preparing the next batch of goods for the customer and restoring the stock needed on the production line" - he explains. According to various independent data, picking goods generates 50% of all costs related to warehouse operations. But thanks to dedicated algorithms, these costs can be significantly reduced. For example, by better planning the work of the so-called an order picker that completes the order, but also cooperates in the warehouse with load transport devices: AGV trolleys or AMR automatic robots. – By optimizing warehouse processes, you can also better plan external transport processes – adds Chaładyn.”

Otimo na konferencji “INNOWACJE W LOGISTYCE I PRODUKCJI. WSPÓŁPRACA NAUKA – BIZNES.”

On April 10, 2024, the conference "INNOVATIONS IN LOGISTICS AND PRODUCTION, SCIENCE-BUSINESS COOPERATION" was held. The event was full of interesting lectures and unique panelists, including the Vice-President of Otimo, Krzysztof Chaładyn.

This unique event, organized by Bogusław Gnat / LUCA Logistic Solutions in cooperation e.g.. from Politechnika Opolska, as the name suggests, did not focus only on the presentation of products or services, but also touched on a very important aspect of cooperation between the world of science and business. The conference program was very interesting, and we can safely say that the event started with a bang, because one of the first speeches was... a collaboration Otimo sp. z o.o. and Inovatica AGV, titled “Optimization algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI) in logistics.” During it Krzysztof Chaładyn, Vice President of Otimo and Bogumil Zieba, President of Inovatica AGV, talked about how optimization algorithms and artificial intelligence contribute to increasing efficiency, operational efficiency and reducing logistics costs.

During the 2nd day of the "XVI European Economic Forum - Lodz 2023" Krzysztof Chaładyn, Vice-President of Otimo sp. z o.o. as a LODZistics cluster representative took part in the debate "DOES OPTIMISATION MEAN REDUNDANCIES? VARIOUS DIMENSIONS OF OPTIMISATION IN LOGISTICS AND BEYOND”.

The disputatious panel title marks an attempt to answer the question about the different dimensions of optimisation, its importance in logistics and elsewhere, and more specifically to reflect critically on the consequences of optimisation. After all, when we view optimisation as an effort to increase productivity and efficiency, we can optimise everything, not just logistics. And optimisation in logistics is not only faster delivery, and a more efficient warehouse, but also a better IT system, or a more competitive business location. How to maintain and even increase the quality of services while operating under time pressure, and at the same time not negatively impact the environment?
